Missing Minnesota
Last night our four year old was sitting at the top of the stairs when she should have been sleeping. She was obviously upset, so I went up to see what was wrong. She said, "I'm so sad." "Why are you so sad?" I asked. "I miss my farm house." was her answer.
For those of you who don't know, we were graciously allowed to stay in a beautiful farm house for our six month home assignment this last year. Our girls loved it there. Sophie has never quite gotten over leaving. She loved the house and the farm and being in Minnesota. I think seeing her cousins on a web cam conversation a couple of days ago triggered her memory of how fun things were there.
This is one of the hardest parts of missionary life. It is difficult uprooting your family and moving across oceans not only once, but every few years. Please pray that wisdom and love will guide us as we parent these little ones.
